A silver ammo box hidden traditionally. The trail along the ravine
is beautiful and at one point it can be steep. A little
bushwhacking and a bit of a walk but you will be glad you did.
This cache has been placed in recognitition of Panther in the Den's
1000th Find! Extend your congratulations to Panther in the Den by
finding the cache, signing the logbook and posting you "Found It"
online. In keeping with the Chicagoland tradition, started by
Fallenfaery and SpecialEd, we've placed this commemorative cache to
honor Panther in the Den. Park at N41*42.621 / W87*54.781 and do
what we do best from here. We stocked the box with all sorts of
cool stuff. John took his name from the Panther Den Wilderness
which is located in Union and Williamson Counties and received it's
name from a rock formation known as the Panther Den that is located
within the Wilderness area. John has become a rock in our
Geocaching community and a valued friend to those of us who know
him. He is always willing to share his knowledge of land navigation
and love for both the wilderness and the Chicago area. His caches
are in some of the most unique places and give you a look at the
history, geology or culture of the location.
