The Castle of Kemend used to stand on the Várdomb, in Kemendollár.
The castle was mentioned in a charter at first in 1357. The castle guarded the valley of Zala until the end of the Turkish period, and fell into decay but we don't know when and how it happened.
The box is a pot used in the kitchen; its diameter is 18 cm and it is 7 cm high. It can be found in a hole, hidden by some stones and it is about 20 meter in the North from the cross standing on the top of the Várdomb of Kemend.
