The cache can be accessed either from the Rattlesnake valley via a trail head on Duncan Drive or from Cherry Gulch via the Waterworks trail head. It's a short hike with a climb at the end no matter which way you go. This cache is a Bison capsule, with a bit of a twist, located at 3,677 ft. elevation.
This cache is a miniature giant space capsule! You might ask where miniature giant space capsules come from, and I can tell you that they are flown to Earth by miniature giant space hamsters. These invaders have piloted many of their vessels to our planet, only to discover that it is impossible for their ships to escape our gravity field. So, what's a hamster to do? Set up housekeeping and sell the ships to the local purveyor of micro caches of course!
I wanted to be the first person in Missoula to use a miniature giant space capsule as a cache container, and here it is. I have activated the capsule's cloaking device as we wouldn't want any muggles to plunder this rare alien artifact. The capsule contains a log scroll on waterproof paper; be sure to bring your own pencil to sign with.
When resealing the capsule, be careful to prevent anything from getting caught in the threads. I find it helps to invert the top and then screw the two halves together (you'll see what I mean when you find it).
