Geocache Description:

Beautiful environmental learning area found on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall. Little known recreational hiking trails that are easily accessible for multiple trailheads. Please follow campus parking regulations for this cache. If needed, parking passes can be attained for free at the SMSU Office of Public Safety.

This cache is a remembrance for our son, Reed, who was killed in the tragic Cottonwood school bus crash. Reed loved treasure hunting. The area we chose was one of his favorite snow shoe hiking areas. As his parents, we are both SMSU alumni and this seemed to be the perfect location to remember our son who was a huge Mustang fan. The cache box is similar to the boxes used by the Minnesota State Park system. This cache was designed with families in mind; so come out for a quick hunt in a gorgeous setting. Go Mustangs!
