Oxygen, atomic number 8, atomic mass 16, it is the most abundant element on Earth by mass and the third most so in the universe. Released by the trees and the grass, pale blue and odorless, it is the air we breathe, the water we drink. It is the lifegiver. O, oxygen, what would we do without you?
