"Killevippen" is a magical word.
In the 1965 children's book "Nils Karlson, the elf" by Astrid Lindgren, the author tells a story about a young boy and a magical friend he meets.
In the book, Bertil is a young boy that stays home alone while his parents are away at work, he is usually very bored.
But one day he sees a boy under his bed that is no taller than his thumb, and this boy wants Bertil to come play with him in his home down the mousehole.
But Bertil is a human boy, how can he get down the mousehole?
The elf, Nils Karlson, tells Bertil to touch the nailhead near the mousehole while saying "KILLEVIPPEN!" and he will become small as well.
Bertil does so and the boys have much fun playing together and become great friends.
This was one of my favorite stories when I was a small boy, and with this cache I hope to share some of that magic with you!
The text of the story can be found here: https://gimmesumhunny.wordpress.com/2012/09/10/nils-karlsson-the-elf/
