Several years ago, our friends dreamed of a quiet life in the country, surrounded by wildlife, wildflowers, trees and rolling hills. They eventually found the refuge of natural beauty they'd been seeking, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with many tranquil hideaways to sit and hear nothing but the birds chirping and the wind rustling through the trees.
This family-friendly cache is tucked away in one of those peaceful spots, comfortably resting with a gorgeous view of a secluded pond with its ducks, geese and any other creatures that may find their way to the water. Yes, the cache is on private property, but our friends have given their blessing to have it placed here. It makes for a quick park-and-grab, or you can take extra time to sit and enjoy the stillness for a while. Maybe you’ll see Mike, Gretchen, and their family wandering around. And don’t worry about their dogs—they’re quiet and very friendly, and Fletcher may just invite you to play a game (or twelve) of fetch.
I have placed this cache on May 11, 2019, a warm sunny day, as the apple blossoms are preparing to pop. I’ve included a new travel bug, Apples on the Run, that is beginning its life on the lam as it flees the cider press. There's also plenty of room in the cache for trackables. Please note that if you visit during the sap running season, please don’t touch the taps on the trees so they can do their thing.
