Geocache Description:

Rock, Rock Who’s There?

This is my first geo cache, and I wanted my first to reflect my interest in moorland and mountain walking. By following the caches in order, you may, (if you so desire) walk what I think is a classic 18-mile walk. This will ensure that you enjoy magnificent views of the far eastern valleys with views of The Black Mountains as well.

You may decide however that my idea is far too strenuous, and will pick off the various virtual caches in order to avail yourself of the final clues to find the real cache. Please be aware that VC2 is in a remote place as is RC5, and you will need to ensure that you are equipped for a walk in the hills, as if the weather turns, you will find yourself rather exposed.

RC5 is a micro and has only room for a small logbook, a stubby pencil and pencil sharpener.

Finally, thanks to all you local cachers for giving me the enthusiasm to want to create my own cache. I'm sure that I will place more out there in the coming years!

************************************************************
The co-ordinates for VC1 will provide you with a safe place to park your car for the day for free, should you wish to embark on the 18-mile adventure. If you do decide to walk the entire route, please email me and I will give you some directions to follow to get you through Pontypool Park and Pontnewynydd to the open hills.

If you do decide to walk the entire route, I think that it would be fair to say that the ratings will rise to 3,5 regarding difficulty!

There will be an opportunity to claim ‘First to Find’ on two occasions. Once by simply finding the cache, and secondly by the first person to walk the entire route and find the cache!
