Seiväsjärven itärännalla n. 10 km Savonlinnasta länteen on jylhässä kallioseinämässä pikkuinen luola, jonka olemassaoloa harva enää muistaa. Luola on joskus menneinä aikoina toiminut metsässä liikkuvien suojapaikkana ja näistä ajoista on luolan perällä jäljellä kivistä ladottu tulisija, jonka savupiippuna toimivat kallioseinämän lukuisat raot. Perimätiedon mukaan näillä korpimailla olisi isompiakin luolia, joihin ovat paikalliset miehet Venäjän vallan aikoina paenneet Venäjän armeijan pakko-ottoja. Hyvä pysäköintipaikka autolle on N61º51.439 E28º41.261 (PP). Pysäköintipaikan vierestä lähtee nyt uusi metsäautotie, jota pitkin pääsee koordinaatteihin N61º51.494' E28º40.911' (P1), josta on enää vajaan 300 m taivallus kätkölle. Luolaa lähestyessä maasto on vaikeakulkuisempaa korpimaastoa ja rinnettä, joten etenkin märällä kelillä kannattaa noudattaa varovaisuutta mahdollisesti liukkailla rinteillä. Luolaa ympäröivässä korpimetsässä gps ei välttämättä ole aivan tarkimmillaan, mutta luolan alapuolella järven rannassa oleva iso kivenjärkäle toimii tarvittaessa hyvänä kiintopisteenä. Etenkään tottuneemmille metsässäliikkujille tämä kätkö tuskin tuottaa ongelmia.
Near the eastern shore of Seiväsjärvi lake, about 10 km west of Savonlinna, is a small cave in a mighty rocky cliff. The existence of this cave is nowadays almost forgotten, but in times past it has been a shelter used by woodcraftsmen and as remains of those times you can still find a fireplace in the rear of the cave. A good parking site is at N61º51.439 E28º41.261 (PP). From the parking place leads a new forestry road to the point N61º51.494' E28º40.911' (P1). From this end of the forestry road there's a less that 300 m hike to the cache. Near the cave the terrain is rougher and steeper and specially during rainy weather a causion is required in moving on possibly slippery slopes. The cave is surrounded by a dense forest which may cause inaccuracy of gps signal, but right under the cave is a mighty boulder on the shore of the lake and this can be used as a benchmark when locating the cave. This cache requires earlier experience of hiking and navigating in forest!
