Albergan kaivos Traditional Cache

Albergan rautakaivoksen malmiesiintymän löysivät kaivosmiehet Josef Hammar ja Isak Sik 1840-luvun alkupuolella Albergan kartanon mailta. Kaivoksesta louhittiin vuosien 1844 - 1851 aikana yhteensä noin 120 tonnia rautamalmia, joka kuljetettiin Tarvon lastauspaikalle. Malmi oli heikkolaatuista, eikä luultavasti mennyt hyvin kaupaksi. Nykyisin paikalla on kolme veden täyttämää louhosta, joista suurin on 3 - 4 metrin syvyinen ja aidattu. Kaivos on muinaismuistolain suojaama ja sen läheltä on löydetty myös kivikautinen asuinpaikka.

[ENG] The miners Josef Hammar and Isak Sik found a iron ore deposit in the early 1840's from the lands of Alberga manor. The iron ore was mined totally about 120 tons during 1844 - 1851 and it was carried to the loading place located in Tarvo. It is supposed the low quality ore didn't find the markets. Nowdays there is still three pits filled with water. The biggest one is 3 - 4 meters deep and it is fenced. The pit is protected by law. Remains of habitations from Stone Age was found nearby the pit.
