Geocache Description:

Kätkö on lammen länsirannalla
GPS-signaalin laatu vaihtelee voimakkaasti eri vuorokaudenaikoina.

Cache is on the western shore of Likolampi pond.
Quality of the GPS-signal varies depending on time of day.

[FI] Likolampi on pitkänomainen pohjois-eteläsuuntainen lampi. Lampi on ns. pohjavesilampi eli siihen tai siitä pois ei johda jokia. Vedenkorkeus riippuu siis pohjaveden korkeudesta.

Lammessa on perimätiedon mukaan liotettu pellavia, siitä lammen nimi. Lammen rannalla on ollut viina- ja kaljatehdas joiden ansiosta lampi on erittäin rehevä.

Talvisodan pommituksissa ainakin yhden pommin tiedetään pudonneen jään läpi lampeen.

Liian hyvät/siistit vaatteet hankaloittavat kätkön etsimistä. Käsineet tekevät loggauksen mukavammaksi, mutta ilmankin onnistuu vallan hyvin.

[EN]Likolampi is a north-south-shaped pond. There are no streams in or out of the pond, therefore the water height depends solely on the height of ground water in the surrounding area.

The name of the pond comes from soaking linens. (soaking pond= likolampi). There were spirits and beer breweries around the pond, their mash made the pond very overfed.

During the winter war bombings (1939-40) at least one bomb is known to drop into the pond.

Wearing too good/clean clothes makes finding and logging more difficult. Gloves recommended, but not necessary.
