A cache for cyclists and walkers alongside the Taff Trail
The cache is situated between Talybont and Torpantau on the Taff Trail which follows the course of the disused railway alongside the Talybont reservoir.
The Taff Trail is National cycle route 8, starts at Cardiff bay and finishes in Brecon.
There are 2 car parks, one each end of the valley, you can walk or cycle. When placing the cache I parked near the dam and cycled. Cross the dam and turn right onto the Taff Trail. After placing the the cache I continued to Torpantau and returned by the same route with a small detour to check out the waterfall car park.
Near the dam theres works in progress, looks like hydroelectric I think. At Torpantau, over the road from the old station, new rails have been laid to form a run around loop.
The box is 7 x 4 x 2 inches and originally contained First To Find card, 'Please read' info sheet, log book, biro, pencil, 2 small red dice, key fob, golf ball, rubber duck and train.
