Etelä-Saviolle on raivattu 215 jalkapallokentän verran aukeaa, jolle nousee Keravan uusi logistiikka-alue. Samalla ihmisen "asvaltoidaan koko maapallo" -hanke etenee suuren harppauksen eteenpäin. Luonto ei jää näissä kisoissa edes altavastaajan asemaan, kun se hävitetään kokonaan. Kätkön alta alkaa myös Suomen pisin rautatietunneli, joka vie Vuosaaren satamaan. Tunneli on 13,5 km pitkä ja käy alimmmillaan 20 metriä merenpinnan alapuolella. Sataman alle asvaltoitiin vielä paljon enemmän luontoarvoja kuin täällä Saviolla. Man vs. Nature -vaikutelma on ehdottomasti parhaimmillaan, kun kätköä lähestytään etelästä polkuja pitkin. Purkki on 0,9 litran kokoinen, siis lähes regular, eli ottaa mielellään vastaan kulkijoita ja kolikoita... Runsaslumisina talvina tämäkin purkki hautautuu lumeen.
If you approach this cache from the south, as I suggest, you will first walk by some nice forest and at the cache you will enter the cruel and modern world dominated by ourselves. North of the cache is an open area of about 215 football fields where a new logistics center will be built in the coming years. Just in front of the cache lies the mouth of a 13,5-km railway tunnel leading to the Vuosaari harbour, where even more land and nature was paved or covered with concrete. Sad but true. The cache is 0,9 litres and likes to give shelter to travelbugs and coins.
