Helppo peruskätkö Viensuun Lontsinniemessä, ortodoksisen tsasounan ja kalmiston naapurissa
Easy traditional cache in Viensuu's Lonsinniemi, where an orthodox "tsasouna"-church and remains of an old orthodox cemetery can be located.
Viensuun kylässä Lontsinniemellä on vanhan ortodoksikirkalmiston
ja -tsasounan paikka. Alkuperäinen tsasouna purettiin tai tuhoutui
1500-luvulla. Kylällä kiertää tarina, jonka mukaan "vennään kirkon"
kivet kuljetettiin läheisen joen ylittäneen vanhan sillan (jo purettu)
rakennusmateriaaliksi.
Nykyinen tsasouna on rakennettu Lontsinniemeen Saima Palviaisen
aloitteesta. Voit vierailla tsasounassa sekä kalmistoalueella,
mutta kunnioita parhaita kätköilijäperinteitä ja jätä paikka
siistimpään kuntoon kuin tullessasi, erityisesti tsasounan
rappusia voi lakaista puhtaaksi neulasista jne. Kirjoita nimesi
myös tsasounan vieraskirjaan! Olisi kiva jos kätkön galleriaan
tulisi kuvia alueelta eri vuodenaikoina.
Kesällä kätkön viereen pääsee autolla, talvella auton voi joutua
jättämään WINTPP -waypointin tienoille. Jos tietä ei ole
aurattu perille asti, älä yritä maastoautolla.

Kätköilyä yöaikaan on syytä välttää.
At the village of Viensuu, Lontsinniemi peninsula, one can find a very old holy place. An orthodox church ("tsasouna") and a small cemetary
were located here during 16th century. There is a story circulating
around the village that the stones form the church were overhauled to the old bridge nearby (dismantiled more than 50 years ago).
The present tsasouna was built to Lontsinniemi on the initiative of Mrs. Saima Palviainen. You can visit the tsasouna and the cemetary area, provided that you follow the best geocaching principles - leave the site in cleaner condition than it was when you arrived. Pay special attention to the cleanliness of the steps leading to the tsasouna. Please do sign the guestbook of the tsasouna! It would be nice if you could take pictures of the site on different seasons of the year.
The cache is nearly a drive-in cache during the summer season. During wintertime, if the final road to the site has not been blowed open, leave your car to the WINTPP waypoint location. The yard of the house nearby is private area, do _not_ use it as turnaround / parking spot for you geovechile!
Please, avoid visiting the cache during night.
