[FIN] Yökätköilyä Pateniemen vanhalla saha-alueella.
Koordinaatit vievät sinut saha-alueen pääportin läheisyyteen joka
toimii lähtöpisteenä. Tehtävänä on seurata puihin kiinnitettyjä
heijastinnastoja kätkön loppupisteelle saakka.
Heijastinnastoja on noin 20-100 metrin välein 1-3 metrin
korkeudella ja matka lähtöpisteestä loppupisteelle on alle 800
metriä. Heijastimia voi seurata poluilta ja teiltä. Reitti on
suoraviivainen ja ei sisällä mitään tiukempia mutkia. Reitin
maastoluokitus on pääsääntöisesti 1,5 luokkaa lukuun ottamatta
muutama jyrkempi 2,0-2,5 luokan kohtaa.
Lopullisen kätköalueen tunnistat kolmesta heijastinnastasta
jotka ovat kolmiomuodostelmassa. Kätkö sijaitsee 2 metrin säteen
sisällä kätköalueen heijastimista.
Huomioitavaa matkaan lähtiessä ja matkalla:
– Yökätkö. Eli sen suorittaminen onnistuu parhaiten
hämärässä/pimeässä.
– Käytä tehokasta taskulamppua ja varmista että siinä on
riittävästi virtaa matkalle.
– Seuraava heijastin ei välttämättä näy suoraan edelliseltä
paikalta jos seisot aivan puun vieressä vaan voit joutua siirtymään
sivuun muutamia metrejä.
– Heijastinnastat on paljon helpompi havaita jos pidät
taskulamppua silmien korkeudella.
[ENG] Night caching at the old sawmill in Pateniemi. The
coordinates takes you close to the sawmill’s main gate which
is the starting point. The cache can be found by following a series
of reflectors that are attached to trees all the way to the
cache.
Reflectors can be found 20-100 meters apart at 1-3 meters height
and the distance from the starting point to the cache is less than
800 meters. The reflectors can be followed from the paths and
roads. The route is quite straightforward and it doesn’t
contain any sharper curves. The terrain rating is mainly 1.5 but
there are a couple of steeper 2.0-2.5 rating parts.
The cache site is recognized by 3 small round reflectors that
are aligned as an triangle. The cache can be found within 2 meters
radius of the cache site reflectors.
Things to be taken into consideration before and during the
caching:
– This is a night cache meaning that the best time to finish
this cache is during dusk/nighttime.
– Use a powerful flashlight and make sure it has enough power
for the whole route.
– The next reflector might not always be visible from the
previous reflector point. You might have to move aside a few meters
to see the next reflector.
– The reflectors can be seen easiest by keeping the
flashlight at eye level height.
