Putting the faded photo in my pocket,
I squinted into the darkness,
And swore I heard voices up ahead.
This cache is located on the outskirts of Phillips
Park. The main entrance to the park is on Park Lane, Whitefield. If
you start at the carpark and make your way clockwise round the
Circular Route along Mid Wood you will come to a place where the
path turns right and decends via some steps into the valley.
Instead of taking the steps, continue along the path. This will
take you along a route with some beautiful views (and steep drops!)
The path can be very muddy at certain times of year so watch your
step. The path comes to an end point where you can find your way
between a gap in a fence post and into the Mouth of Madness! There
are other routes but this one is the nicest.
You will need to bring:
-A good torch
-Wellies/waterproof footwear
-A sense of adventure
Please be careful in this area, especially if
you're going alone. Plan how you are going to get out again before
attempting to retrieve it. If you slip and hurt yourself....nobody
will be able to hear your screams!
The listed coordinates will get you to The Mouth of Madness.
From here you will need stoop down and enter the darkness. Keep
going till you can stand up straight again, the cache will be above
your head!
Special thanks to MEROVINGIAN-GOLD for finding the hiding place.
