Sysmän pohjoiskolkassa, Äiti-Kammion kupeessa, kohoaa Vähäkammiovuori 195m:n korkeuteen merenpinnasta. Sen kallioisille rinteille tuuli kuljettaa läheisten Mörkö- ja Murhakorpien synkkiä säveliä. Täällä korpiseudulla karhujen, ilvesten ja susien seassa asuu lumimies, Yeti. Se majailee yleensä vuoren jyrkällä kaakkoisrinteellä, josta avautuu esteetön näkyvyys ympäröivään maastoon. Pesälleen kelopuun katveeseen se kulkee ketteränä otuksena luonnon muovaaman kallioaukon läpi. Siellä se usein istuu kevätauringossa talven jäädyttämää turkkiaan sulatellen.
Jos löydät lumimiehen pesän tyhjillään, voit levähtää hetken kivipenkillä ja lepuuttaa jalkoja. Ole kuitenkin varovainen, kalliomaasto on liukas ja alapuolella oleva jyrkänne vaanii varomatonta kulkijaa. Pesälleen palaava lumimies on usein
äreä tunkeilijalle. Lähtiessäsi pesältä jätä se siistiin kuntoon äläkä turmele herkkää luontoa.
Reittisuositus:
Sysmä-Luhanka maisematieltä (612) käännyt Vintturintielle, jolta vasempaan Nutturintielle ja ennen Kammiovuoren parkkipaikkaa oikealle Huhtmäentielle.
Ajat ylämäkeen 700 metriä ja käännyt vasempaan. Ajat 1.1 kilometriä ja levikkeen jälkeen kääntyy tie vasemmalle. Voit jättää auton tielevikkeelle tai autosi maavarasta ja vetotavasta riippuen ajaa viimeiset 400m
(Huom. Y-risteyksestä oikeaan) Vähäkammiovuoren parkkipaikalle. Olet saapunut välietapille. (koordinaatit: N 61* 42.004´, E 025*42.678´)
Vieressä näet kotalaavun jossa voit levähtää, syödä eväitä ja kirjoittaa vieraskirjaan. Halutessasi voit tehdä tulet ja paistaa vaikka makkarat. Laavulla on harvoin ketään joten Jästeihin törmääminen on epätodennäköistä.
Laavulta retkesi jatkuu ylös vuorta, matkalla voit ihailla komeaa järvi-ja metsämaisemaa, pohjoisessa näet hyvällä säällä Luhangan kirkon ja idässä Valkeajärven takana kohoavat Latavuoren rinteet. Olet saapunut lumimiehen valtakuntaan.
Talvisin pikkuteillä ei ole säännöllistä tienhoitoa joten vähintään hyvä katumaasturi on suositeltava. Lumikengillä sitten loput kun auto hyytyy ;) Kammiovuoren pp on hyvin hoidettu myös talvisin joten retken voi aloittaa myös sieltä. Matkaa Väkäkammin laavulle polkuja seuraten tulee n. 2.6km.
Miten on...uskallatko vastata Yetin kutsuun?
North of Sysmä, near the Mother-Kammio, is the Vähäkammiovuori (195m). There you can hear dark sounds from Mörkökorpi and Murhakorpi. Here, in the middle of nowhere, lives a Snowman called Yeti. Yeti usually stays southeast of the mountain, where you can see over the horizon. Yeti's nest is usually situated near a dead pine tree and as a agile creature it goes to the nest through the mouth of a rock. In there it often basks in the sun.
If you find the Yeti's nest, you can sit on the stone and rest your feet. But, beware. The rocks are slippery and the cliff lurks for careless wanderer. Yeti is often cranky when he notices somebody trespassing near the nest, so make sure to leave before he does. Don't leave any garbage in the woods.
Best route:
From Sysmä-Luhanka scenery road (612) turn to Vintturintie and then turn left to Nutturintie and before parking place of the Kammiovuori, turn right to Huhtmäentie. Drive for 700m and turn left. Then drive about 1.1 kilometer once you see a road turning left. You can leave your car here or drive last 400m (Notice. from Y-crossing to right) to Vähäkammiovuori parking place. You have arrived to the first stage.(coordinates: N 61* 42.004´, E 025*42.678´)
By the parking place is a lean-to where you can take a rest, eat your provisions and write in the guest book.
From the lean-to your trip goes up to the hill. To the north you can see the church of Luhanka and to the east behind the lake of Valkeajärvi rise slopes of the mountain called Latavuori. You have arrived to the kingdom of Yeti.
In winter there is not such a good road care, so at least a good grossover or SUV is recommended. You can also use snowshoes after your car is stuck in the snow ;)
The parking place of the Kammiovuori is in good condition also in winter so you can start your trip from there. The distance to the Vähäkammiovuori is about 2.6km and there is found a marked route.
