Oulun tuomiokirkko on myös tiekirkko, eli se pitää ovensa auki
kesäaikaan. Talviaikaan kirkko on auki toimitusten aikana, kuten
sunnuntaisin klo 10 (jumalanpalvelus). Voit jättää autosi kirkon
edessä olevalle pienelle parkkipaikalle. Jos tämä parkkipaikka on
täynnä, joudut jättämään auton hieman kauemmas.
The Oulu cathedral is a road church which means that it's doors
are open at summertime. In wintertime the church is open during
events, like for Sunday service every Sunday at 10 am. You may
leave your car to the parking lot in front of the church. If this
parking lot is full, you need to leave your car further away.
Löytääksesi kätkön sinun ei tarvitse siirtää kiviä, nostella
reunapeltejä yms. Kätkön voi nähdä ilman, että siirtää esineitä
mihinkään. Myöskään poistuminen aidatulta alueelta ei ole
tarpeen.
To find the cache you don't need to move stones or anything
like that. You can see the cache without moving any items. Also
you don't need to leave the fenced area.
Below is the mystery first in Finnish, then in English.

Kirkon kellojen kumistessa pääni päällä, seisoin katsomassa
niiden vanhoja sisaruksia. Outo kaiho valtasi minut. Kirkas
auringonpaiste häikäisi silmiäni kun kuljin kellojen entisen kodin
raunioille. Tuntui haikealta ajatella, että suuren tulipalon
jäljiltä ei ole jäänyt kuin kasa kiviä.
Kellojen vaimetessa käännyin ympäri. Näin edessäni esi-isieni
muistopaikan. Kuljin kirkkotarhaan ja pysähdyin kummun ääreen.
Lukuisat pienet laatat kertoivat kauan sitten poismenneiden
tarinaa. Kuljin yhä kiihtyvin askelein kummun viertä. Kirkkomaan
aidat eivät tarjonneet suojaa kaupungin hälyltä tai polttavalta
auringolta. Halusin varjoon.
Pian löysinkin pienen helpotuksen nuorten puiden varjossa.
Siellä levähtäessäni mietin, mitä edessäni kohoavat seinät
piilottivatkaan sisäänsä. Edelleen, satojen vuosien jälkeenkin,
Messenius seisoo siellä rakkaan kirjansa ääressä. Ajatuksissani
kävelin lähemmäs Messeniusta. Pian edessäni oli valinta. Pari
porrasta veisi minut suljetulle ovelle, toinen suunta johtaisi
minut maan alle, kolmatta polkua seuraten päätyisin pois
täältä.
Miettiessäni, minne tästä jatkaisin, huomasin kuparin tutun,
lämpimän värin. Se muistutti minua kirkon messinkisistä
kynttiläkruunuista, vaikka siitä puuttuikin hohto ja kauneus.
Silloin tiesin, että olin löytänyt oikean paikan.
Varovasti, kapeaan koloon, piilotin viisauden sanat.

As the church bells chimed over my head I stood looking at their
old sisters. A strange longing filled me. The bright sunlight
dazzled me as I walked to the remains of the bells' old home. I
felt longing as I looked at the stones. That was all there was left
after the great fire.
As the bells faded out I turned around. I saw in front of me the
memorial site of my ancestors. I walked to the church grounds and
stopped by the mound. Numerous small slates told the stories of
those who are long gone. I walked by the side of the mound with
haste. The fences of the church grounds didn't offer any shelter
from the traffic's noises or the burning sun. I wanted to get into
shade.
Soon I found a short respite in shadows of young trees. As I
rested there I thought about what the walls in front of me hid
within them. Still, even after hundreds of years, Messenius stood
there with his beloved book. I was deep in my thoughts as I walked
closer to Messenius. Soon I was faced with a choice. A couple of
stairs would take me to a closed door, another direction would lead
me underground, and third path would lead me away from here.
As I wondered where to go next, I saw the familiar, warm copper
colour. It reminded me of the brass lamps in the church even though
it lacked the shine and beauty. At that moment I knew I had found
the right place.
Carefully I hid the words of wisdom into a narrow gap. There
they would thrive. Hidden, but still so close to the place where so
many other words linger. There I left my words waiting for their
finder.
Will you follow in my footsteps? If you do, and you find the
right place, you can already see my treasure. Once you've reached
it with your eyes, please take it to your hand with care and
inconspiciously. You can add your own words into the treasure and
increase the wisdom for the next finder.
