[FIN] Kätkö sijaitsee pikkuruisella saarella Kevättömässä. Kätkörasia itsessään on noin 0,5L purkki isomman 1L purkin sisällä. Suurempi purkki suojaa sateelta. Kätkö kerää kolikoita, koruja ja kaikkea muuta merirosvouteen liittyvää.
[ENG] The cache is located on a tiny island in Kevätön lake. The container itself is a 0,5L box inside a 1L plastic container. The larger container is meant to keep the smaller one dry. The cache collects coins, jewelry and anything to do with piracy.
[FIN] Kun olin nuori pojankloppi, löysin uimarannastamme oikean pullopostin. Pullo oli suljettu aidolla korkilla ja sisältönä oli kirje. Kirjettä ei valitettavasti enää ole tallella, mutta se kertoi pullopostin lähettäjän olevan merirosvojen panttivankina Koivusaaressa. Tämän luettuani pakotin vanhempani soutamaan läheisimpään saareen joka oli täynnä suuria koivuja. Eihän tämä posti olisi voinut mistään muualta tulla. Rantauduimme sinne, muttemme löytäneet panttivankia tai merirosvoja. Tämä harmitti minua suuresti nuorella iällä.
Nyt tarjoan teille samaa elämystä. Tällä kyseisellä saarella on vieläkin merirosvojen aarrearkku, kuulu Koivusaaren Aarre. Huhu kertoo, että merirosvojen kapteeni oli ovela, ja peläten tulevansa itse ryöstetyksi hän nikkaroi aarrearkun niin ettei kukaan muu merirosvo pääsisi käsiksi hänen aarteisiinsa.
Mainittakoon vielä, että vaikka kyseessä on saarikätkö, voi sinne uida lähimmiltä rannoilta hyvällä uimataidolla. Kelluntaliivejä ja räpylöitä suositellaan. Lyhin uintimatka on noin 100m ja mikäli ette saa lähitonttien omistajilta lupaa mennä heidän pihojensa läpi, niin kätkön pohjois-, ja koillispuolella on metsäaluetta mistä pääsee pulikoimaan. Veneiden käyttö on myös mahdollista.
PS: Alueella on ajoittain löydetty kärmeksiä, mutta tuskinpa niistä suurta haittaa on.
[ENG] When I was a young lad, I found a letter in a floating bottle at our beach. This bottle was sealed with real cork and contained one letter. The letter unfortunately has since been lost, but it told about the sender being held as a prisoner by pirates in Koivusaari (Birch Island). Having read this, I forced my parents to row a boat to the closest island filled with large birches. To my dismay we found no pirates nor their prisoner. This bugged me quite a bit as a child.
Now I offer you the same experience. On this very island there still lies a hidden pirate treasure chest, famous Treasure of Birch Island. The legend says that the pirate captain was a clever man. When he felt that he himself would be robbed, he tinkered the treasurechest so that no other pirate could open it.
It should be stated here that even though this is an island cache, it is quite possible to swim to it, although floating devices and flippers are suggested. The shortest swimming distance is about 100m, but this needs you to convince local cabin owners to allow you passage. Still, if you can not get them to cooperate, you can go North, or North-East of the cache to find some forest areas from where to start swimming. (In finland, you are allowed to move through other people's forests as long as you keep off their lawns. More details can be found about Everyman's Laws elsewhere). The use of a boat is also possible.
PS: From time to time, there have been sighting of snakes in the area, but it is doubtful that they will cause harm in any way.
