Every so often there are caches that require a bit more effort from the individual to find the cache. This cache is one of those. In order to get to the cache, you have to be prepared to make your way up the brook, and as you get near to the cache, you have no choice but to walk through the water. Indeed when you reach up for the cache, you will be actually standing in the brook. For that reason , I would recommend either wearing wellies or gaitors.
The cache is located next to the infant Cheesden Brook, in a rocky defile, where the water roars down a small waterfall, as it makes its way down from Scout Moor. The brook makes its way down a steep sided gully, which is places is difficult to access due to the steepness and sheerness of the rocky slopes. The southern side of the brook tends to be the most steep, with small cliffs, it is for this reason that this side of bordered by a fence. Please do not damage the fence.
You can get down to the cache area by walking along the Coal Rd, and then leaving it at Waypoint 1. From there you can walk along Grain Brook to Waypoint 2. From here you can make your way along the gully bottom to the cache.
Please be careful, as the ground is uneven and when you get nearer the cache the brook can be slippy - so please watch your footing. A stick may be a good thing to take with you.
