1955 beslöt Vörå IF att bygga en skidbacke.
Vöråbacken stod klar i god tid före FM tävlingarna 1961, och tillät
då hopp på 60 meter.
Efter det är backen renoverad ett antal gånger, bl.a.
ombyggd för att passa V-stilen som kom i medlet av 80-talet.
Nuvarande backrekordet är från 1997 och är 71,5 meter,
och innehas av Kimmo Savolainen, nuvarande chefstränare för
kombinerade landslaget.
1981 var "legenden" Matti Nykänen på besök och hoppade här.
Backen är c:a 40 meter hög.

In 1955 Vörå IF decided to build a ski jump.
The Vörå ski jump was finished well in time for the Finnish
championships in 1961,
and allowed jumps of 60 metres.
Since then the ski jump has been renovated a couple of times,
a.o.t. to fit the V-style that arrived in the middle of the
80s.
The present record, which is 71,5m, was set in 1997,
and is held by Kimmo Savolainen,
who is now head coach of the national Nordic combined team.
In 1981 the “legend” Matti Nykänen visited and jumped
here.
The ski jump is about 40 metres high.
