[FI] "MALJAKIVET" - SUONTEEN KOMEIN RAUKKI
Aallot ja talven ahtojäät muovasivat maljakiviä 5000 vuoden ajan, kunnes Suonteen vedenpintaa laskettiin noin 1,5 metriä 1800-luvulla ja maljakivien "jalat" paljastuivat vedestä. Maljakivien kivilaji on porfyyristä granodioriittia, joka rapautuu helposti pieninä kappaleina. Suonteella olevia raukki-muodostumia ovat Maljakivien lisäksi Karhu, Reikäkivi ja Sierainkallio. [EN] SHORE STACK "MALJAKIVET" ("THE GOBLET STONES")
Waves and ice carved the "Maljakivi" stones during 5000 years before Lake Suontee water level was lowered approximately 1,5 meters by man during the 19th-century. Rock type of the stones is susceptible to weathering. Other shore stacks on the shores of Lake Suontee are "Karhu" ("The Bear"), "Reikäkivi" ("The Hollow stone") and "Sierainkallio" ("The Nostril stone"). There are same kind on shore stacks also found on the shores of the neighboring Lake Puula, which was earlier connected to Lake Suontee.
