Old Cowhouse Traditional Cache

ENG: Cache location is the ruins of a Cowhouse by the Mattila farm, originally built in the 1750s. The main house has been completely restored in 2010 close to the original look.

FIN: Kätköpaikka sijaitsee 1750-luvulla rakennetun Mattilan tilan navetan raunioilla. Mattilan päärakennus on korjattu vuonna 2010 alkuperäiseen asuunsa.

ENGLISH

The cache is on the hiking trail from the town of Koli to the Ukko-Koli peak. It is located above snow level and should be found also in winter. The container is common Aino ice cream box, contains originally TreASUre stONEs. Some facilities / services available during the opening hours of the Mattila estate (mostly seasonal).

There are at least four possible approach scenarios to the site.
1) ~1km hiking trail from the town of Koli
2) ~1km hiking trail from the Koli harbour
3) 2-3km hiking trail from the Ukko-Koli peak
4) ~800m walk from the Mattila-Turula-Ollila parking place (Ylä-Kolintie 12, Lieksa)

Kätkö on patikointireitin varrella, Kolin kylältä Ukko-Kolin huipulle. Se sijaitsee lumirajan yläpuolella ja pitäisi löytyä myös talvella. Purkki on Aino jäätelörasia, sisältää alunperin aaRREkivIÄ. Joitain palveluja saatavilla Mattilan tilan aukioloaikoina (lähinnä sesonkiaikoihin).

Lähestymiseen on ainakin neljä eri vaihtoehtoa.
1) ~1km patikointi Kolin kylältä
2) ~1km patikointi Kolin satamasta
3) 2-3km patikointi Ukko-Kolin huipulta
4) ~800m kävely Mattila-Turula-Ollila parkkipaikalta (Ylä-Kolintie 12, Lieksa)
