Laitasaari
Laitasaari on yksi Muhoksen kunnan kylistä, Muhoksen ja Oulun välisellä alueella Oulujoen rannalla. Laitasaaren kylän tunnetuimmat rakennukset ovat seurojentalo, rukoushuone ja alakoulu.
Rakennus
Laitasaaren Seurojentalon rakennus on rakennettu 1888, ja aluksi se toimi Laitasaaren kansakouluna (1888-1955). Se on Muhoksen kunnan vanhin olemassaoleva koulurakennus. Kun uusi koulu valmistui noin kilometrin päähän vuonna 1954, kävi talo tarpeettomaksi kunnalle. Nykyään Seurojentalon omistavat Laitasaaren Maa- ja kotitalousseura ry, Laitasaaren Veto ry ja Laitasaaren Nuorisoseura ry. Seurojentaloa vuokrataan ympäri vuoden, ja se onkin idyllinen paikka perhejuhlien järjestämiseen ja muihin kokoontumisiin. Päärakennuksessa on juhlasali, näyttämö, keittiötilat, kahvio ja WCt. Tontilta on upea näköala Oulujoelle ja reilusti parkkitilaa. Pihapiirissä on myös kaksi vanhaa aittaa, maakellari ja rantasauna.
Historia ja nykypäivä
Laitasaaren kansakoulu perustettiin vuonna 1887. Koulutalo rakennettiin vuonna 1888 Rantatien varrelle. Oppilaita oli tällöin 52. Opettajat asuivat koulurakennuksessa. Koulun pihapiiriin kuuluivat aikoinaan myös talousrakennus, jossa oli navetta, lato ja käymälä sekä halkoliiteri, aitta ja savusauna. Lisäksi joen törmällä oli kaivo. Koulurakennuksessa oli 1900-luvun alkupuolella kaksi valkeaksi maalattua lasikuistia. Rakennuksen pohjoispäässä oli opettajan asunto, koululuokka keskellä ja pirtti eteläpäässä. Pirtissä oli leivinuuni ja höyläpenkit.
Maamiesseura (nyk. Laitasaaren Maa- ja kotitalousseura ry) osti talon vuonna 1955. Mukaan omistajakuntaan tulivat 1950-luvun lopulla Laitasaaren Veto ry ja 1980-luvun lopulla Kosulankylän Nuorisoseura (nyk. Laitasaaren Nuorisoseura ry). Nämä kolme seuraa omistavat talon ja pitävät sen kunnossa talkoovoimin. Pääasiallisin käyttö on kesäviikonloppuisin hääjuhlapaikkana ja talvisin Laitasaaren koulun sählysalina ja Nuorisoseuran kerhopaikkana. Myös Laitasaaren koulun joulu- ja kevätjuhliin taloa käytetään edelleen.
Kätkörasiassa on lokivihko, kynä, teroitin, kätkötiedote, muutama vaihtari ja pari silicapussia. Runsas lumi voi hieman vaikeuttaa kätkön etsimistä talvella.
Laitasaari
Laitasaari is one of the villages of Muhos, located in between Muhos and Oulu, in the banks of Oulu river. The best known buildings in Laitasaari village are the Societies’ House, the Prayerhouse and the Laitasaari Primary School.
The building
The Laitasaari Societies’ House has been built 1888, and it acted as the elementary school building of Laitasaari (1888-1955). It is the oldest existing school building in Muhos. When the new school building was built about a kilometer away in 1954 the Muhos municipality did not need this building anymore. Nowadays the Societies’ House is owned by three assotiations: Laitasaaren Maa- ja kotitalousseura ry, Laitasaaren Veto ry and Laitasaaren Nuorisoseura ry. The Societies’ house is being rented year-round and is an idyllic location for arranging family celebrations and other gatherings. The main building contains a festival hall, a stage, a kitchen, a cafeteria and toilets. There is an amazing view to the Oulu river and plenty of parking space. Also two old granaries, an earth cellar and a waterfront sauna building are located at the courtyard area.
Past and present
The Laitasaari elementary school was founded in 1887 and the school building was built in 1888 along the Rantatie road. Then there were 52 pupils attending the school. The teachers were living in the school building. In the courtyards there were also a wood shed, a granary, a smoke sauna and an outbuilding which held a cowhouse, a barn and an outhouse. There was also a well in the bank of the river. In the beginning of the 20th century the building had two white glass verandas.The teacher’s residence was located in the north end of the building, the classroom was in the middle, and livingroom, containing a baking oven and carpenter's benches, was in the south end.
Maamiesseura (nowadays the Laitasaaren Maa- ja kotitalousseura ry) association bought the building in 1955. In the end of 1950’s Laitasaaren Veto association and in the end of 1980’s Kosulankylän Nuorisoseura (nowadays the Laitasaaren Nuorisoseura ry) association joined to be co-owners of the building. These three associations own the building and maintain it by voluntary work. The building is mainly used during the summer weekends for wedding celebrations and during the winter for the floorball practices of Laitasaari primary school and as a club room for several clubs of the Nuorisoseura. The house is also used as the location of Laitasaari primary school’s Christmas parties and Spring festivals.
The cache container includes a log book, a pencil and a sharpener, a few tradables and two silica bags. Heavy snow can make searching for the cache a bit more difficult in the wintertime.
