Kätkö esittelee Merikarvian Vapaa-aikakeskus Rysän
Varo mihin astut, rännin alla syvä kuoppa! Mind the deep pit under the rainspout!
Tätä rakennusta kutsuttiin urheilutaloksi kun minä olin nuori. Nyt se on nimeltään vapaa-aikakeskus Rysä. Ja melko monipuolinen rakennushan se onkin sillä sieltä löytyy hieno kylpylätyyppinen uimahalli, iso liikuntasali, punttisali, ampurata ilma-aseille, kahvio ja nuorisotalot. Pihalla on tenniskenttä joka on hieman kärsinyt routavaurioita sekä myös skeittiramppi ja läheisyydessä on myös jääkiekkokaukalo ja vähän pidempänä pururata.
Minulle henkilökohtaisesti tämä rakennus on oikein tärkeä. Täällä on tullut uitua ja räpyläuitua kymmeniä ellei satoja kilometrejä, pelattua kymmeniä ellei satoja tunteja salibandyä, on vietty aikaa nuokkarilla, on käyty ampumassa ilmakiväärillä ja -pistoolilla. Joskus luistellut, juossut ja hiihtänyt pururadalla. Muutaman kerran on käyty jopa punttisalilla vaikkei päältäpäin huomaakaan :)
This place was called Sports Centre when I was young. Now it is called as Leisure Centre Rysä. And quite versatile facility it is as it includes a spa-like swimming hall, a largish sports hall, a gym, a shooting range for air guns, a cafe and a youth center. There is also a tennis court at the yard which has suffered a bit from frost, a skate ramp and there is also outdoor ice rink nearby and a bit further a jogging / skiing path.
For me personally this facility is quite important. I have swimmed and snorkeled tens of hundreds of kilometers, played tens of hundreds or hours of floorball, hanged around at the youth centre. I have done some shooting with air rifle and pistol at the shooting range. sometimes skating, run and skiing at the jogging path. I have even visited the gym a few times allthough one would never guess that by looking at me :)
