Kätkö sijaisee Katinhännänkalliolla, joka on 119,2m merenpinnan yläpuolella. Täällä on aikaisemmin ollut kolmiomittaustorni, sen lahonneet jäänteet ovat vielä näkyvillä. Lisätietoa mm. (visit link)
Ennen sitä, joskus 1960-luvun puolen välin jälkeen kalliolla partioi armeijan miehiä. Kertausharjoituksissa olevat majoittuivat teltassa kalliolla ja joutuivat rakentamaan ilmatarkkailulavan, josta tarkkailivat ja ilmoittivat jokaisen havaitsemansa lentokoneen päämajaan. Tuolloin alueella oli suhteellisen paljon pienlentokoneita liikkeellä. Tarina kertoo, että ”pojat” kyllästyivät purkkimuonaan ja koska joukossa oli tuttuja miehiä, he olivat tulleet alas perunoita pyytämään. Anopin isoäiti oli heille sitten niitä lahjoittanut ;) Kumpaakin rakennelmaa on anoppini käyttänyt ”näkötornina” Hän kertoi että silloin ennenkuin puut kasvoivat, näki tornista hyvällä säällä jopa Kiljavan sairaalan, joka sijaitsee 17 km päässä koilisessa. Nyt ovat puut korkeita eikä torneja ole, mutta jos menet tornin jäänteiltä noin 60-70m koiliseen, tulet jyrkänteelle, josta on vielä ihan mukavat maisemat. Otalampitalo (jossa on koulu, päiväkoti ja neuvola) näkyy pohjoisen suunnalla ja itään päin katsoessa kaukaisimmat puut lienevät Nuuksiota jo. Jyrkänteen juurella kasvavia kuusia pääset ihastelemaan latvusten korkeudelta.
Talvella pitäisi olla saatavissa, mutta tarvitsee mahdollisesti lisävarusteita kuten lumikengät.

This cache is located at Katinhännänkallio, which is 119,2m over sealevel. Here has been a triangulation tower before, it's rotten remains are visible.
Sometime before it, late 1960's there was a military refresher course held here. They lived up here in a tent and had to build a watch tower, where from they observed and reported all airtraffic in the area. In those times, there was a quite lot of small planes flying around. A tale goes that those ”boys” got tired in canned food and because some of them were familiar to people, they came down and asked for some potatoes from my mother-in-law's grandmother. She did grant some potatoes to them ;) My mother-in-law used to climb up to both of these towers and use them as ”lookout tower”. She have told me, that before those trees grew too big, you could see in good weather all the way to the Kiljava hospital ,which is located 17km to northeast. (Sourse: my mother-in-law, she has lived all her life at the feet of this cliff)
Now trees are big and there are no towers, but if you go about 60-70m to northeast from tower remains, you will come to a cliff edge, and there is still a quite nice view. In the north, there you can see Otalampitalo (Otalampi-house, which has school, daycare and maternity/child care clinic) and at east those farthest treetops must be all the way in Nuuksio. At the edge you can also admire top of those spruces growing from down there.
In winter cache should be available, but you need possibly snowshoes or something.
