The city of Vaasa has hundreds of kilometers official bicycle pathways. You can see them by visiting this link and mouse clicking the word "Pyörätiet" in the upper left corner of the site. But this is not necessary to find the final coordinates of this cache!

"Velocipede" (Latina "Fast foot", eikä "Fast food" :-) oli yleinen termi, jota virallisesti käytettiin ensimmäiseen luotettavaan ja käytännöllisesti käyttökelpoiseen polkupyörään, jonka saksalainen Paroni Karl C. L. Drais on keksinyt vuonna 1817. Itse termin "Velocipede" on luonut ranskalainen keksijä Nicéphore Niépce vuonna 1818.
Vaasan kaupungilla on satoja kilometrejä virallisia polkupyöräteitä. Ne näkyvät esim. tästä linkistä klikkaamalla sanaa "Pyörätiet" vasemmassa ylänurkassa. Kuitenkaan linkin avaaminen ei auta sinua löytämään tämän kätkön loppunaatteja.

The cyclist in the upper left corner of the "Turning Wheels" picture above keeps the wheels underground turning.
The red arrow at the bicycle indicates the moving direction of the bicycles pedals.
You have to find out in which direction the five blue P, O, L, K, U - bars move! Each bar gives you one number of the final containers Latitude.
(e.g. if the small wheel that touches the blue "L"-bar turns clockwise, it moves the blue bar up, and the black triangle inside the blue bar moves towards number 7. So L=7! If the small wheel doesn't turn at all, the bar will not move, and L=3! If the small wheel turns counter clockwise, it moves the bar down, and L=1!)

Polkupyöräilijä ylhäällä olevassa "Turning Wheels" kuvan vasemmassa yläkulmassa pyörittää maan alla olevaa pyöräkoneistoa.
Polkupyörän punainen nuoli näyttää pyörän pedaalien kiertosuunnan.
Tehtäväsi on löytää sinisien P, O, L, K, U - sauvojen kulkusuunnat! Jokaisesta sauvasta saat yhden numeron loppupurkin leveysasteeseen.
(esim. jos pieni pyörä, joka koskee siniseen "L"-sauvaan, pyörii myötäpäivään (kellon suuntaan), se siirtää sauvaa ylöspäin, ja mustavärinen kolmio sinisessä sauvassa liikkuu numero 7:n suuntaan. Eli L=7! Jos pieni pyörä ei liiku ollenkaan, niin ei sininen sauva - eikä musta kolmiokaan - liiku, eli L=3! Jos pieni pyörä pyörii vastapäivään, se siirtää sauvan alaspäin, ja L=1!)

If LAT_CHECK contains the numbers 2030 and 6813, you have the correct Latitude!
(e.g. if you should get P=0, O=4, L=3, K=5, U=9, then POLKU = 04359. Calulate LAT_CHECK = 04359 x 95340 = 415587060. This LAT_CHECK e.g. contains numbers 4155, 1558, 5870, etc. but NOT 2030 & 6813. Therefore this would be the wrong Latitude!)

Vaasan seudun aakkoset - Vasatraktens alfabet - Alphabet of Vaasa
Tämän kätkön ensimmäiseksi löytävän toivotaan tekevän seuraavaan aakkosten kirjaimeen liittyvän kätkön noin kahden-kolmen viikon kuluessa Vaasan alueelle. Kätkösarja ei ole siis rajattu Vaasan kapungin alueelle, "Vaasan seudun" voi tulkita kukin haluamallaan tavalla. Nyt on siis mahdollisuus vaikkapa ottaa kantaa kuntaliitoksiin... Mikäli FTF:n löytäjä ei halua kätköä tehdä, hän voi siirtää vastuun esimerkiksi STF:n loganneelle. Jaetuissa FTF:ssä voitte sopia keskenänne seuraavan kätkön tekijän, tai vetää vaikka pitkää tikkua. Mikäli halukasta ei millään tunnu löytyvän, ota yhteyttä vaikapa alphabet-sarjan aloittajaan (Saukki). Seuraava voi olla tradi-, multi- tai mysteerikätkö, miksipä ei jopa event!
Önskemål är att den som hittar denna först skulle göra nästa gömma med någon anknytning till alfabets nästa bokstav inom två-tre veckor i Vasatrakten. Alltså gömman behöver inte vara inom Vasa stads gränser, utan man kan tolka "Vasatrakten" hur man vill. Bra möjlighet att ta ställning till kommunsfusioner.. Om FTF-skattletaren inte vill göra nästa gömma, man kan flytta ansvaret till STF-loggaren. Om FTF är delad, kan ni tillsammans komma överens om vem som ska göra nästa burk. Om man inte hittar någon som vill göra nästa, kontakta den som började serien (Saukki). Nästa cache kan vara tradi-, multi- eller mysteriegömma, varför inte även event!
It is wished that the geocacher who finds this one first could make the next cache with some connection on the alphabet's next letter within two-three weeks to Vaasa area. The cache doesn't have to be inside the borders of Vaasa city, you can interpret "Vaasa area" as you wish. A good chance to take a stance on unions between cities...
If the FTF-logger doesn't want to make the next cache, s/he can delegate the mission to the geocacher who is second to find. When the FTF is divided, you can decide together who will make the next cache. If nobody wants to take the task, contact the geocacher who started this series (Saukki). The next cache can be a tradi, a multi or a mystery, why not even an event!
