Painonummen mäki nousee melkoisen jyrkästi, varsinkin kun tullaan Vihdin suunnasta. Alhaalla notkossa on Maasojan sääasema, jossa usein mitataan muita etelän sääasemia kylmempiä lukemia. Maasojalta nousu Painonummelle on noin kilometrin verran ja toiseen suuntaan saakin sitten hurjat vauhdit alamäkeen! Painonummen mäen laelta näkee luoteeseen aika pitkälle, koska edustalla on avointa maastoa hiekkakuopan vuoksi.
Painonummi is a steep hill, especially if you approach from Vihti. Down at the dale is Maasoja weatherstation. Temperatures measured there are often coldest comparing other southern weatherstations. Climb from Maasoja to Painonummi is about a kilometer lenght and to the other way you can get fierce speed downhill! From the top of the Painonummi hill you can see quite far northwest, because there is some open ground because of sandpit.
