This cache is located to the campsite of previous national jamboree of The Guides and Scouts of Finland.

Tarus was the 5th Finnjamboree, a national jamboree of The Guides and Scouts of Finland. It was held in the area nearby the cache in the summer 2004. There were more than 11 000 Finnish Guides and Scouts with about 1000 participants from abroad to join the jamboree. Camp programme was based on Finnish patrol system. Traditional camping skills have an important part in the programme.
The first national Finnish jamboree Karelia, was organised in 1979 in Northern Karelia. The second Finnjamboree, Miilu, was in 1985 by lake Jämi in Central Finland. In 1990 the Guides and Scouts of Finland gathered again. Camp´s name was Tervas and it was arranged in Kannonkoski, Central Finland. Fire theme went on in 1996 by the sea in Hanko. That is when the fourth Finnjamboree, Loisto, was arranged.
Tarus oli viides kansallinen partioleiri Suomessa. Se järjestettiin kätkön lähialueilla kesällä 2004. Siellä oli yli 11 000 suomalaista ja noin 1 000 ulkomaalaista partiolaista. Leirin ohjelma perustui suomalaiseen partiojärjestelmään. Retkeily ja leireilytaitojen harjoittelu oli tärkeässä osassa ohjelmaa.
Suomen ensimmäinen kansallinen partioleiri Karelia, järjestettiin vuonna 1979 Pohjois-Karjalassa. Toinen leiri Miilu, oli Jämijärvellä Keskisuomessa vuonna 1985. Vuonna 1990 partiolaiset kokoontuivat jälleen yhteiselle leirille. Leirin nimi oli Tervas ja se järjestettiin Kannonkoskella Keski-Suomessa. Vuonna 1996 leirin nimi oli Loisto. Leiri pidettiin Hangossa.
