Tämä kätkö vie sinut Sompiojärvelle, Pyhä-Nattasen ja
Pikku-Tankanvaaran huipulle. Varaa riittävästi aikaa (mahdollisesti
koko päivä) etsimiseen.
This cache leads you to Sompiojärvi, top of Pyhä-Nattanen and
Pikku-Tankavaara. You need quite a lot time (maybe whole day) to
seek this cache.
Kätkö koostuu kolmesta eri pisteestä, jotka sijaisevat kohtalaisen
kaukana toisistaan. Kaksi ensimmäistä sijaitsee Sompion
luonnonpuistossa ja kolmas Urho Kekkosen kansallispuistossa.
Piste 1 – Sompiojärvi N 68° 06.562 E 027° 26.225
Aja Vuotsosta Sompiojärventietä n. 14 km. Täältä löytyy laavu ja
kota, jossa voi myös yöpyä. Annetuista koordinaateista löydät
isokokoisen (n. 17 cm korkea) puuhun kaiverretun vuosiluvun.

Piste 2 – Pyhä Nattanen N 68° 07.337 E 027° 22.184
Palaa takaisin Vuotsoon päin samaa tietä n. 3,5 km, pisteeseen N
68° 06.647 E 027° 21.236, johon voit jättää autosi. Tästä lähtee 2
km pitkä polku Pyhä-Nattasen huipulle. (Puiston rajalta n. 1,2 km
eteenpäin lähtee toinen polku, mutta sen pituus on 4 km. Samasta
paikasta lähtee myös polku Koilliskairan luontokeskukseen, jota
pitkin pääset myös Pikku-Tankavaaralle. Halutessasi voit siis myös
vaeltaa kolmanteen pisteeseen, matkaa kertyy n. 15 km.) Huipulla
sijaitsee vanha Palovartijan tupa, jossa voi majoittua kaksi
henkeä. Tuvassa on kamina ja kaasukeitin. Ota juomavesi mukaan jo
polun alkupäästä. Tunturilta aukeavat upeat maisemat ympäröiville
soille ja tuntureille. Voit nähdä sieltä myös Pikku-Tankavaaran,
jossa lopullinen kätkö sijaitsee.
Palovartijan majan ovesta löydät isokokoisen maalatun vuosiluvun.

Piste 3 – Pikku-Tankavaara N 68° 10.xxx E 027° 08.yyy
Koilliskairan Luontokeskukselta Tankavaaran Kultamuseon vierestä
lähtee Kuukkelilenkki- niminen luontopolku, jota pitkin pääset
lähelle kätköpaikkaa. Matkaa huipulle kertyy n. 2 km. Näkötornista
voit nähdä myös Pyhä-Nattasen.
The cache consists of three steps, which are located quite a long
way off each other. First two are located in Sompio Nature reserve
and the third one in Urho Kekkonen National Park.
Step 1 – Sompiojärvi N 68° 06.562 E 027° 26.225
Drive from Vuotso along Sompiojärventie about 14 kms. You found
here a lean-to and a hut, where you can also stay overnight.From
given coordinates you found a large-sized (about 17 cm high) year
engraved to a wood.

Step 2 – Pyhä Nattanen N 68° 07.337 E 027° 22.184
Drive back about 3,5 kms to the point N 68° 06.647 E 027° 21.236,
where you can left your car. Here is starting point of a path
(about 2 kms) to the top of Pyhä-Nattanen. (There is also the other
path from the border of Sompio Nature reserve, but it is longer,
about 4kms. From the same place starts the path to
Pikku-Tankavaara, about 15 kms. If you want you can also hike to
the final step.) There is the old Fire Guards hut, which
accommodates two persons on the top of Pyhä Nattanen. There´s a gas
cooker and a wood stove in the hut. Pick up water from the
beginning of the path.Beautiful views open from the top of the
fell. You can also see there Pikku-Tankavaara, where the cache is
located.
From the door of the Fire Guards hut you find large-sized painted
year.

Step 3 – Pikku-Tankavaara N 68° 10.xxx E 027° 08.yyy
From Koilliskaira Visitor Centre next to (Tankavaara Gold Museum)
starts a path (called Kuukkeli-lenkki), which leads you near the
cache. It is about 2 kms from Visitor Centre to the top of
Pikku-Tankavaara. From the outlook tower you can see also
Pyhä-Nattanen.
