Jun 18 '04 Update: Apparently different (and even same)
programs may give different results causing deviations as high as
30 meters from actual cache location. Since cache has been found
anyway, I'm reluctant to archive it. So if you go after this one,
be prepared to search from wider area than usually.
Jun 15 '04 Update: Two first cachers to find both stashes
did not face any major deviation from actual coordinates, but later
a bigger off-coordinates calculation turned out. You may use
following coordinates for maximum accuracy with northern reference
point. Southern reference point is accurate in its original
form.

Kultainen leikkaus on
matemaattisesti kiehtova lainalaisuus, jolla on paljon
esteettisesti kauniita sovelluksia arkkitehtuurissa ja
maalaustaiteessa. Esimerkiksi Pantheonin temppelin suunnittelussa
on käytetty kultaista leikkausta. Antiikin ajattelijat ainakin
Pytagoraasta
lähtien tunsivat kultaisen leikkauksen ja luonnossa se on
esiintynyt jo paljon kauemmin.
Lyhyesti ilmaistuna kultainen leikkaus jakaa suoran kahtia
siten, että lyhyemmän osan suhde pidempään on sama kuin pidemmän
osan suhde alkuperäiseen suoraan. Tämä tieto riittää käsillä olevan
geokätköongelman ratkaisemiseen, mutta oheisissa linkeissä on asiaa
havainnollistettu täsmällisemmin.
Molemmat kätköt ja kummankin kätkön kuvauksessa annetut
viitepisteet sijaitsevat kaikki samalla suoralla. Kätköt
sijaitsevat maksimaalisen pitkän suoran molemmissa päissä. Kumpikin
keskimmäisistä pisteistä jakaa uloimpien pisteiden muodostaman
suoran kultaisella leikkauksella.
Kätköpaikka on varsin ilmeinen eikä geojästeistä pitäisi olla
haittaa.
Golden Section - North forms dual cache with
Golden Section - South. They are based on a mathematical
calculation, in where golden section and two reference points
define a line. Line is maximum lenght and there's a cache at both
ends.
Golden section is mathematically fascinating phenomenon that has
have many esthetically beautiful applications in architecture and
art since early days of human history. Nature has applied golden
section in its own creations much longer.
To put it shortly, golden section splits a straight line in two,
so that the ratio between shorter and longer part is equal to that
between longer part and original line. This is sufficient
information to resolve the geopuzzle, but attached links may still
be useful.
Both caches and given reference points fall in a straight line.
Each of the two center points splits the line formed by outer
points in two with respect to golden section.
Cache-box is a ½ liter Tupperware. It's easy to find and
geomuggles shouldn't cause any trouble.
