This cache is located near road 78 about 20 km:s east from Rovaniemi. The place has memorial for The War of Lappland and especially for battle of Taipale (Taipaleen taistelu). Läheltä löytyy myös uudempi Taipaleen taistelua kohti- kätkö.
“The 33rd Infantry Regime under the command of Colonel A. Kurenmaa and the 12th Infantry Regime led by Colonel Y. Hanste fought against the 99th German Recoinnaince Battalion and the 218th Mountain Infantry Regiment in this are. As Germains after delaying action retreated, the route to Rovaniemi was opened”.You can park your car near the cache on car park and walk the to the cache site on path.
