Kesällä 1902 olivat Prospector Ab:n työt Hangasojan alueella olleet ainoastaan koeluontoisia. Seuraavana kesänä aloitettiin työt Kaarle Kustaan kuilulla. Kaivoksessa oli varastohuone ja paja.
Kaarle Kustaan kuilu kaivettiin 50 metrin syvyyteen asti. Toukokuussa 1904 työt oli pakko lopettaa, kun yhtiön varat loppuivat.
Kätkö sijaitsee vieläkin näkyvissä olevan kuilun lähettyvillä Laanilan Kultareitin varrella. Reitille voi lähteä ja palata kahdesta eri paikasta:
1. Laanila, nelostie (E75) lähellä Paukkulan risteystä
2. Kutturantie, nelostieltä (E75) n. 1,5 km, paikoitusalue oikealla
Koko reitin pituus on 7,6 km yhteen suuntaan ja se soveltuu hyvin kuljettavaksi myös maastopyörällä.
Mikäli et halua tai sinulla ei ole riittävästi aikaa kiertää koko reittiä, valitse aloituspaikaksi kakkosvaihtoehto; kätkö on muutaman sadan metrin päässä parkkipaikasta.
In the summer 1902 had the works of the Prospector inc in the area of Hangasoja been only experimental. Next summer was the work started at the Carl Gustav shaft. There was a storeroom and a workshop in the mine.
The Carl Gustav shaft was dug to the depht of 50 meters. In May 1904 had to give up the work, when the resources of the company ran out.
The cache is located nearby the shaft, which is still visible along Laanila Gold Route. There are two starting and finishing points:
1. In Laanila, on higway 4 (E75) near the Paukkula intersection
2. On the road to Kuttura, about 1,5 km away from highway 4 (E75), parking lot is on the right.
The lenght of the route is 7,6 km one-way. The route is suitable for mountain biking.
If you don´t want or you haven´t enough time for the whole route, choose starting point number 2; the cache is located 200-300 meters from parking area.
