Amerikkalainen keksijä ja taidemaalari Samuel F.B. Morse (1791-1872) kehitteli Morsen aakkoset keksimäänsä sähkölennätintä varten. American scientist and painter Samuel F.B. Morse (1791-1872) is the inventor of electric telegraph and originator of Morse code. The very first Morse code -message was sent from Washington D.C. to Baltimore in 1844 by Morse himself. He was very amazed at the working of his gadget. Therefore the message was: "What Hath God Wrought!"
