Geocache Description:

The cache is located just under half a mile from the Cowell Ranch Beach parking lot. It's a flat dirt fire road.

We've always loved the wild feel of this semi-isolated beach just south of Half Moon Bay. Read the interpretive sign near the Whale Gate to learn about the coastal railroad and local agriculture. After checking out the cache, wander to the point to watch pelicans and check out the harbor seal preserve just to the south. A long flight of stairs leads you to a hidden gem of a beach.
The cache itself is an old ammo can, and it was well-stocked with something for everyone: 2 toy cars; 2 glitter bracelets; 2 small rulers; 2 skeleton keys; 3 seashells; 7 handmade map bookmarks; 1 small plastic doll; 1 puzzle; 1 "dream" journal; 1 deck cards; 1 geocaching compass; 6 assorted S.F. Giants items; 1 small bungee cord; and a wooden token to the local brewery.
Please take time to enjoy the beach!
