Geocache Description:

Part of a series of a series, to encourage you to explore the Clarendon Way.

Named "Bert" in memory of my good friend, John Gordon. Many years ago John and I had a silly conversation while walking this track, and the track was known as "The Bert Track" by us ever since.

This is a series of circular walks, each of which covers part of the Clarendon Way from Winchester to Salisbury Cathedral. Many of these walks touch on other long-distance paths, such as the Itchen Way, Test Way, Monarch's Way, etc. Within each walk, there are a series of geocaches. This is Cache 2 of Walk 2.

Each walk will published as a set; it may be several months before all the walks are published.

I will also write these up on my Inheritance Walks web site, under "Clarendon Way".

This whole circuit is fairly easy, but can be muddy--about 10.7 miles, and about 850 ft of ascent. But each individual cache is pretty easy.

To download a GPX file of the route, to see the other caches on the walk, and to read more about it, check out Clarendon Way Circuit Two: Farley Mount.

There is also an Inheritance Walks blog, where you can leave comments.

There will be an award for people who do the entire set of walks and caches ... follow the blog to be sure to find out details.

Behind the yew tree, about four feet from the ground, in clear view if you're in the right place!
