The Clay Pigeons met me at my house at 6:45 am, December 31st. We picked up none other than Oldboyhiker at 7:10 am on the southside of Birmingham. The plan was to complete the 67 County Challenge in two days. Between the three of us, we lacked 22 counties. I had planned a circuitous route taking us through Pike, Dale, Henry, Houston, Geneva, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Butler, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Washington, Choctaw, Clarke, Monroe, Wilcox, Dallas, Perry, Marengo, Hale, and Sumter. We logged the first one at 9:30 am on December 31st in Pike County and logged the 22nd county (Sumter) at 4:30 pm, January 1, 2010. We spent the night in Evergreen, Alabama. What a trip! Thank you for placing this cache to help us with our goal!

End of the year beginning of the year cache run through 22 Southern Alabama counties with the Clay Pigeons, Caverscott, & myself. . We fondly called it the “Shades of Blue” tour or the “SOB” tour for short. It rained, it was sunny , the wind blew, it got cold, it got warm. We experienced a variety of caches, landscape, and weather. Nearly a 1000 mile driving loop completely within the state of Alabama during two dawn to dusk days during the shortest daylight days of the year. . We looked for caches, We found caches. We ran for caches , we rode in the car. We looked for oysters. We couldn’t find oysters, We forgot about oysters, but then the oysters found us . We looked for nuts on occasions, but found only nutty trees & then again we were all caching nuts in the car to do this…… so who needs those other kind of nuts anyway. A fun couple of days, Signed as "The Big Dogs". Thanks for the fun. obh

This one was here when we went by. Thanks for the cache. Neat cache idea..
