We're going to show you what you're looking for right from the
start. It's a nice big ammo can.
Warning: Prior planning should be made before you venture
out for this hide in State Game Land 295. Check out your topo maps
as well as any other maps of the area you can find. It's very easy
to get turned around in this area. This is a very strenuous hike
that may take you more than one visit to complete. You will be in a
very remote area where you will have little or no cell phone
service in many areas of your walk. Water could be scarce at many
times of the year so ration what you bring. Remember this is a
multicache so you will need to get information to find the next
stage and final.
We can't require you to bring the following
items but you should seriously consider it.
Whistle
First Aid Kit
Water...as much as you can carry
Water purification tablets
Food for more than one meal
1-2 flashlights
Extra batteries
Normal items you typically carry
Items you might not normally carry
Something to help build a fire if needed

Unmentioned special equipment - This is a terrain rating of

Now for the disclaimers: This cache is not
recommended for small children unless you are a member of the e-r-h
team. Difficult terrain and some vertical exposure may be
encountered. Attempting this cache is completely under the cacher's
discretion. Holycowboys and Mountainfolk406 take no responsibility
for anything that may happen while seeking this cache. Please be
safe and only attempt if you accept the risk.
Note: Do not hike in this or any other State Game Lands
during the big game hunting seasons in November and December,
except on Sundays during which hunting is not permitted in
Pennsylvania. The State Game Lands also allow small game hunting
during much of the rest of the year, which does not present a
serious hazard to hikers, though it is advisable to wear at least
one piece of “safety orange” clothing for visibility. Camping is
not permitted on State Game Lands so this must be done as a day
hike. (Unless you are stuck out there on an emergency
bivouac.)
Private property also surrounds many areas near SGL 295 so
please respect the posted signs.
Inspiration for this hide was provided by George1 and
redtailforester. If you don't like it talk to them. If you don't
know Mountainfolk406 or HolyCowboys you might want to ask around.
Getting some background info on these two caching teams might give
you an idea as to what you're in for. Remember this is a 5/5, so
hints will not be provided. No matter how many roses you buy our
wives.
