Geocache Description:

Dad used to do epic walks in the Pennines, Wales and Scotland, and even Iceland. He would camp or doss down in bothies or barns, cooking for himself on a meths stove. He would carry water in a little kettle that had a screw cap for the spout as well as the top, and there was a tea infuser that fitted in the top too. This is the replacement kettle, but it was never loved or used as much as the old battered one.
Dad died in 2003, aged 95.

Park at N53 29.337 W001 34.673 and take the path to the Isle of Skye. Pause to look at the signpost just beyond the gate. We’re very proud of it!

The path goes towards a quarry, which is fenced off and has lots of private or danger signs painted on rocks. The cache is well away from the quarry. You only have to move two loose stones to find the cache.

The kettle is wrapped in a black plastic bag for disguise. It contains an assortment of goodies I managed to fit in through the 2” hole in the top.

Very important. If you take the scissors you must leave a coin. An old local cutlery custom decrees that if you are given a knife or pair of scissors, or anything with a blade, you should give a coin so as not to sever a friendship.

While you are at the Isle of Skye, do have a look at the direction thingy at the top.
