Most of my caching is done west of the prime meridian so when I stray across to the east I get terribly confused. Following the hints I started from the wrong place and went in the wrong direction. Starting again I used my eyes to go from the right place and my GPS to go in the right direction and the cache was exactly where it was supposed to be! Like previous visitors I saw no sign of the Just Spoolin' Around TB. TNLNSL TFTC

We were down in Buckhurst Hill today visiting my dad, and for once had a bit of spare time (and daylight) left after my visit to go and pick up this cache, which I've had my eye on for a while (everyone loves a large :) )I used to spend many an hour in Knighton Woods when I was younger - I would often take a book and sit on the rocks by the pond. Sometimes I'd leave early in the morning so I could spend some time in there before school, there was a fox who got so used to me he would come up really close. ahhhhh, the nostalgia :) anyway, back to today this was a quick find, in fact once we reached the (very accurate) co-ordinates, it would have been impossible not to spot the cache as it was fairly exposed, I tried to cover it up a little more when I replaced it I picked up the cute owl travel bug, no sign of the other TB listed as being here, though, I'm afraid otherwise TNLN thank you for maintaining this long standing cache in such nice surroundings, I'm surprised there aren't more caches in here, I'm sure that there is room for a couple more, one up near the water would be nice. If only I lived closer I might pop one in there myself. TFTC Sarah, one half of the Chaos Crew from Swindon ~161~

My Third cache for the day, and the best one also. It took me a long time to find the exact spot. the hint was leading me the wrong way, because from the moment i entered the woods, i saw hints everywhere, and forgot to check my Gps. thinking it was blocked to much by the trees. but when i almost gave up hope, i checked again, and found that it was leading me right on top of the well hidden cache.Well Buckhurst Hill, all the way from Trinidad i came here to drop of "Rooky"now i only can hope she won the Race. I wonder also who or what where the other 2 geocaches hidden in Trinidad. i did not see them, or overlooked them. so pse let me know what other nice things i missed. i also dont understand how this bug ended up in Trinidad, there is no link between the person that dropped it on Sando Hill and the owner? well hope to hear how the story ended. TFTC In: Rooky Out: geocoin GP6GAQ will check if she wants to go abroad, and will give her some nice new hidding place

We hunted for this one by walking over from Woodford station. Easy enough to get to the right general area, but it took a bit of wandering about in the last 500ft to track it down. After going round in ever-decreasing circles, we got to the clearing and it was an easy find. Lovely big cache in a great area - I took a few photos while I was there. We ended up at Roding Valley for the journey home - which happens to be the quietest station on the Underground. TFTC!

Walked around the paths trying to find a way to the cache without much luck so Ollie Dad went bush wacking through Brambles,Holly trees, spider webs, etc. After what seemed an eternity, he found it but then he'd lost his wife! Much vocal positioning as well as bush wacking (again), we managed to relocate each other Decided to go home home after this one, as road maps had run out 9 for the day was good enough! It was quite creepy in the dark but we took a deep breath and got on with it. It didn't take us too long to find the cache and even less time to get out of the woods! Thanks for a memorable bi-centenary, Andybug&Ladybirdxxxx

Our first cache! A bit tricky due to our inexperience and the multiplicity of possible sites, but found it eventually! Took TB Kernow and left a bendy snowman.[This entry was edited by FlareAndMaria on Friday, December 26, 2003 at 1:01:17 PM.]

1st of 10 for the day with my co-worker Bob from the US. Bob found this -- his first geocache -- quickly. Cache in good condition and the contents are dry.Took nothing, left the Sri Lanka TB. Nice walk, but then we were only beginning our 10.5 mile walk through Epping Forest. Started at the Roding Valley tube station, since we reckoned it would be closest to this cache location.

When there is a choice of two paths it's guaranteed I end up on the wrong one. The first cache of the day for the partnership of Daft Tart and Kennamatic, perhaps to be known as "Daft Kennas Tart-o-Matic". First spot of the day to Daft Tart. TNLN of the normal contents but picked up Clever Clogs TB who I shall log as soon as I get his id number. Also the first cache of the day where we hadn't marked where the car was. I immediately decided we were lost, but Daft Tart saved the day by pointing out which path we'd come down. I'm apparently now of an age when I get easily confused!

All three Tomandsians on this trail. Found by Tom after much lurching around in the brambles. GPS got us close nough event though there is a fair bit of tree cover. Cache is in good condition. What a lovely spot, once more taken to somewhere we would never have known about - and only about 5 miles from where we live.TOOK: TB "The worst day" LEFT: TB "Nicholas Knight" and Book crossing book "The Mystic River" Afternote - filled in our worst day when we went looking for the cache at "Ring around the castle". The moral of the tale being not to look for a cache when it has snowed, it's steep hillside location, and dusk is advancing fast!! Wet, cold and frustrated!! Extremely hot today. Walked round pond on the way to the cache and met a very friendly fox who came right up to us. Jessica left a pen and took the teddy jigsaw. Also left TB. Thanks.

Our third and last visit to a cache (and 3rd C&M cache) today. We wouldn`t mind living around here we both muttered to ourselves as we found the car park! It was an nice walk through a fairly quiet wood (only saw one other person). The wood appears full of good old English oak trees, some of which look ancient. Also saw the beautiful pond. Needed the clue again cos we were a tad weary by now. Left nothing and took nothing. Thanx again Chris `n Maria.

Lovely day for a walk with my daughter. This is the closest cache to my home. Very nice and some nice goodies. It was problem picking one. So I went for Nic&Ali's keyring, just to annoy them. They know I'll pass it on when I do the next cache. Also left a cross and the Geocache International Cookbook with bug attached 29-4-03 hughsy & karen

Related Web Page [Horray! The fifth cache of the day, we bagged this one at the second attempt in two days - we failed yesterday because I had configured the eTrex incorrectly. This was to be our second cache of the afternoon (and our 2nd ever!) but we tried without success. Ended up parked at the end of the track near Farm Way. Found several places that seemd to be correct but to no avail. Will return with a Pathfinder rather than Landranger as this cache was there only four days ago.bignoseduglyguy, ashes and bob

Parked in the car park.......Walked through the woods and Ali found the cache after a brief search. Nice location that I can remember being taken to when I was very young. Completely forgot the place was there. Took the Nawtcher CD (our 2nd) and left a Met Police keyring. Thanks......Nick & Ali

A nice end to the day. Carpark??? Where? Parked in a side road and found our way in quite easily. 7 caches in one day is a record for us as most of the ones we have found previously involved mammoth expeditions. Great end to a great day. Many thanks Dave G & Susie E

Didn't know about the wrong parking coords until the GPS had us driving around in a circle trying to get to somewhere we couldn't drive to. We parked eventually at the end of the track (N51 37.074 / E000 02.245). The cache took a while to find, we took nothing, left nothing and signed the book. Thanks for the adventure! Rob (Nawtcher) and Mark.

I tried, without success, to find the way into the car park that was in the middle of the forest . Eventually I gave up, parked at the end of Forest Way and walked in from there. I approached the cache from the wrong direction totally and had to ‘bushwhack’ through the forest for the last 200 feet or so. A well hidden and well stocked cache. I took a small Elephant key ring and left a set of water colour paints. John

The last of a very enjoyable day (except for you know who............)I personally had a great deal of trouble with the GPS reception, but my partner, after 20 mins of searching, assured me that I was using the wrong GPS and that his was reporting 8 ft accuracy. (Why did it take him 20 mins then, you ask.............) Took combination lock. Left Crazy Train. Chris and Maria, I say it once again, for both myself and my Dad, thanks for the time and effort you put in to make such a great day. [last edit: 4/5/2003 12:36:37 PM PST]

Related Web Page After hearing several times at the pub that the parking co-ords were way off we ignored them and parked at the end of the track.Took the wider path almost to the cache spot. After a few minutes hunt there it was. A good hiding spot. Took a book and left a combination lock. A good end to a great day's caching and chatting. Thanks.
