Geocache Description:

I'd advise getting a White River Ranger District map to assist you. You can get a map at the Forest Service office on Hwy 410 in Enumclaw. I recommend a 4wd with high ground clearance to reach this cache. Unless, of course you want to hike up from Lonesome Lake?

Whether you liked his politics or not, I feel that as a person, Ronald Reagan was a good, honest, humble man. So after he died, I placed this Traditional Cache.

His Rancho del Cielo was a spiritual place for him, as is being in the presence of Mt Rainier for me. The view of Rainier from the cache site is breathtaking. The Boundary of Mt Rainier National Park is within a hundred feet of the end of this road. I'm sure that a few of you will get a chuckle about a Reagan cache being placed near a 'clear-cut'!

The cache is an ammo can. I'd prefer that you place or trade Reagan items, but it's not necessary. However, if you take the 5 CD's, please note it in your log, so that I can replace them. Bring a pen or pencil. The pen I placed in the cache might have gotten frozen?

Its contents are:

  • 2003 & 2004 Reagan Ranch Calendars
  • 21 pages of people’s comments after his death
  • A copy of his last speech
  • "Reagan: In his own words" 5 CD set
  • A Certificate of Appreciation from the Reagan Ranch to me
  • 11 Snapple "Real Fact" caps
  • 2000 STP pin
  • A toy giraffe duck and fish
  • Small piece of petrified wood
  • Smokey the Bear sticker
  • Batteries
  • A florescent orange sock (In Memory of a friends Mom)
Use caution when searching for the cache. The cache is in a bunch of deadfalls. A small hint. Use this premise if you need the Hint, " If a tree falls in the woods and nothing heard it fall, did it actually fall?"

Directions:

To get to the cache(s) take Hwy 410 east. A few miles after Greenwater start paying attention the the FS (Forest Service) signs on the right. Turn right on FS 73. Follow FS 73 about 12 or 15 miles ( I can't remember which) and go left onto FS 75. Continue a short distance to FS 7530 (pay attention, it's pretty quick) turn left and follow it to Lonesome Lake. The road to the cache the last right turn and a few hundred yards before the lake. From here this is where you'll want a 4wd, follow the road to the end.

Additional Hints (Encrypt)

If a tree falls, but it didn't actually hit the ground, did it really fall? This points ‘up’ to the cache.
