It's Geoquilt time again! But this time it's a uniquely Canadian experience!! A thread discussing the topic in the forums can be read

For those of you not familiar with the original Geoquilt project the idea is simple. Fellow cacher DxChallenged from Akron NY has provided 300Mag and Cliffy with 100's of individual quilt squares to be distributed throughout Canada in various caches. Once the squares are all signed they will be shipped back to Dxchallenged at which time they will be stitched together into a masterpiece......"the Canadian Geoquilt".
I placed this cache mainly for the purpose of distributing the Geoquilt squares. This is the third cache of its kind I have placed. I did leave tradable items and a logbook in this cache as well. However, this cache will probably be moved to another location once the squares are taken. This cache was originally destined for a permanent spot closer to Barrie and Orillia, but the brutal traffic jams this holiday weekend made that a little difficult to achieve. This temporary location will hopefully allow you cachers to far West of Hwy 400 a chance to claim your square.
Located on the Elora/Cataract trail (excellent for bikers) that crosses the very north end of Winston Churchill Blvd., it is only a 30-second walk from the road. I have never hiked this trail but I have been to the Cataract Inn/Restaurant ($270 - dinner for two) presumably at the West end of this trail earlier this year. The gorge is absolutely gorgeous and there is some very interesting history to this area. If you do not continue on the hiking trail, I would strongly suggest you continue driving north on Winston Churchill, turn right on Hwy 24 and continue East to the next set of lights (43°49.889', 80°01.765'). There is a private gas station here with the cheapest benzene in Ontario owned by a really nice East Indian family. Turn south here and drive to the Cataract Inn and explore the area (43°49.476, 80°01.287).
As already stated, this cache will be removed eventually - determined by how quickly the squares are taken. It is hidden in tall grass, which would undoubtedly make it visible by the fall anyway.
The standard Geoquilt cache instructions follow below:
Please take only one square and log it here and follow the instructions for signing below. If the response is immediate and the squares need replenishment, I will place more here. You may also take one of the stickers I have created for your envelope to be mailed to DxChallenged or you may leave your signed square in the cache and I will mail it off myself along with any others who have done the same.
If you choose the latter option, be sure to bring the appropriate felt tipped marker to sign your name.
Instructions for signing the squares:
Use black permanent fabric marker as Dxchallenged thinks this will give the best overall appearance to the finished quilt. Other colours and iron-on transfers are ok provided they are essentially black and don't detract from the overall colour scheme. One thing you will note about the squares is that they have a penciled border around them: sign only inside this border as anything outside it will be folded over and non-visible once stitched.
As for the return deadline we are still tossing that around although it looks like 2-3 months are in order but a specific date will be set soon and e-mailed to all participants.
