A regular-sized cache, held at a shop in the Mahane Yehuda Market
in Jerusalem, Israel
Any first-time visit to Jerusalem should include a trip to the huge
Mahane Yehuda (Mach-en-ey Ye-hoo-dah) marketplace. Hundreds
of spice shops, fishmongers, cheesemongers, butchers, produce,
freshfood, and sweet and cake shops greet visitors. Competing
shopkeepers yell prices to win over customers. Come hungry and
enjoy a fresh shawarma, falafel and a million samples of pastries,
cheeses and Middle-Eastern deserts from shops throughout the
market. The cache is hidden on a shop shelf.
Cacher beware: This cache is accessible only
during market hours! Shops are generally open between
8am & 5pm, Sunday through Thursday. On Fridays the market is
PACKED with locals shopping for
Shabbat before closing at 3pm. For the cacher unafraid
of crowds, visiting on Friday is a fantastic experience. It is
closed all day on Saturday.
