How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This treasure will take you on a journey far and wide and maybe you will even get to know something about another state and even have a new caching friend when it is all done. Remember it is about those you meet along the way and not the numbers.

In order to complete this fun little multi cache you will need to do a couple of things:

First you need to find the California Exchange cache at the coordinates listed above. Inside the cache you will find some information that will be helpful to complete your mission (DO NOT POST THIS INFORMATION. If you do your log will be deleted).

Next you need to contact ANY geocacher who has found coordinates to the Rhode Island Exchange stage 1 in California. You can do this a few ways. You can look to see who has found the cache in California (GC10AKW) and contact that cacher, you may post a note for assistance on the Rhode Island Exchange page, or you can visit the site yourself. Some things you cannot do; contact a cacher in the “Rhode Island” area who has already found the cache… yeah, that is about it. Hence the 3.5 difficulty.

Once you have made contact you can now exchange the information found in the cache with your new found geocaching buddy.

Finally, you need to find the final cache. Here is the fun part. Once you find the final cache please include the name of the California cacher in the physical log who assisted you on this journey. In addition, please add the name of the California geocacher in your online log.

Photos of yourself finding the cache would be a nice touch so your west coast counterpart can put a face to a name however, this is not a requirement.

Oh I know in the beginning we said that this was about those cachers and friends you meet along the way and not about the numbers… well, since you have followed all of our requests and your west coast counterpart has done the same (both of your names are in the logs) you get to log that cache too.

Inside the cache, hopefully you will find California trinkets and treasures. My partner and I will try to keep it stocked with such items.

As always… Enjoy your journey.
