The Old Mills (Auckland) Multi-cache
Just Floundering: 9.00am. I feel that this one has run its course. Periodic gardening clean ups run the risk of removing the cache as in this case. Best to archive it and let someone else use the area.

An historically interesting and quite scenic spot suitable for a visit by all the family but great care is needed by the main road, the estuary and the mill foundation ruins.
Consider the information available and proceed to WP2 at S 36 45.XXX E 174 35.YYY where:-
XXX = the last year of operation of the timber mill minus 1561;
YYY = the first year of operation of the paper mill minus 1074.
WP2 is simply a point from which to view the ruins and project the bearing and distance to GZ.
At WP2 project the co-ordinates of GZ using a true heading of AAA degrees and BBB metres where:-
AAA = the number of years the flour mill operated plus the number of years the paper mill operated (difference between start and finish years in each case) plus 300;
BBB = the year the flour mill stopped operating minus 1705.
To help check the accuracy of your calculations the sum of AAA + BBB + XXX + YYY = 1654.
***UPDATE 31/1/10***
There is now a fence in place immediately before the mill ruins presumably to prevent accidents. Unless you cross the fence and proceed to the original WP2, do your projection to WP3 from the estuary end of the fence and reduce the distance calculated above by 7m.

There has been some clearing done around GZ. The cache was left intact but I have moved it 2m SE to better conceal it
