Take a stroll to Franklin Square

The cache is located in one of the five original open-space parks planned by William Penn during the late century in central Philadelphia. Originally called North East Publick Square, Franklin Square was renamed in 1825, to honor Benjamin Franklin. It is full of history - the square was an open common used for grazing animals, storing gun powder during the Revolution and drilling soldiers during the War of 1812. Some graves still remain from the cemetery of the German Reformed Church.

Construction of the Ben Franklin Bridge and urban development isolated the square. In 2006, the square was renovated and the Liberty Carousel, Philly Mini Golf and new playgrounds and  restored 19th-century fountain were installed. The Square is close to Independence National Historical Park and Isamu Noguchi’s massive steel sculpture, Bolt of Lightning.

This cache was originally named 'Egypt-a-delphia,' and was part of the King Tut Treasure Tour.

It is available 24 hours a day.

To find the cache:

From the initial location travel 450 feet west by north (281.25°)

The kite is very big and tall and a must see, then the cache is in a very neat park and a clever hide in plain sight, thanks for the fun.

It was freezing cold today. Which was good, because therefore there were no muggles anywhere near. Nice hiding place!
