Geocache Description:

Located in the Minnehaha walkway at the Fox Glacier township

This cache is located in the Minnehaha walkway which starts just South of the Fox Glacier township. The walkway is well signposted and has two entry/exit points so can be approached from either one.

The short track will take you through some beautiful native rainforest, following a crystal clear alpine stream. The walk itself will take a total of 15mins. There is one particular tree on the track which is well worth an investigation. The original tree has long gone, but the epiphytes that sucked the life out of it remain, leaving a hollow where the host tree was. Stand in the hollow and look in awe. If you are there at the right time, making this a night cache is a must as there are glow-worms throughout the track. Make sure you bring a torch to guide the way.

The cache is a 200ml container containing logbook - bring your own writing stick. We have placed the cache inside a waterproof bag to hopefully prevent anymore soggy logbooks. This area does get quite a bit of rainfall throughout the year so please return the cache back inside the bag provided.
