Geocache Description:

Congratulations Captsteiny on FTF

Today our class learned about geocaching and what it is all about. We had so much fun figuring out the coordinates using our math skills, and then going out and finding caches that were placed around our campus, we all agreed that we would like to sponsor a cache as a group and we have called it “The Great Explorer Project.”

The elementary students at the Explorer Academy in Port Orchard would like to see how many people visit our cache and sign the logbook. Right now our initial goal is to have 50 people by the end of the 2006/2007 school year. When we meet our goal the 50th finder will receive a special reward.

This cache has been placed with the permission by the principal. Because we are a school campus this cache will not be accessible from 7:30am until 4:00pm Monday thru Friday (during the school year). During the summer it will be available at all times.

As this being a class project we will be recording data collected from the cache and applying into class room studies. We would like to keep this cache kid friendly, with appropriate trade item for elementary students. We are also launching a travel bug in our cache and tracking how far it goes by the end of the school year.

The cache container is a black pipe with screw off caps. The cache is hidden somewhere on the Explorer Academy campus (you will not need to search around the buildings or in the farm area).

WE HAD TO REDO OUR CACHE CONTAINER DUE TO A SUSPICOUS PACKAGE THAT WAS CALLED IN MY A NON-GEOCAHCER. REPLACED THE OLD CONTAINER WITH A SMALL BISON TUBE.
