Harbour of Faro [Faro] Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Torgut: The harbor is not as interesting as it used to be when I created this cache. They removed the old ships which were the most interesting feature there. I think it's time to terminate this cache.

Geocache Description:

Disclaimer

If you have a problem walking around in places with plenty of garbage and waste, presenting a decadent aspect, don't try this cache. If you do try this cache, you do it at your own risk. I created this one because I do find some interest in the place, dispite all that. You were warned. Now, in order to submit a valid log you cannot complain about any of these aspects (garbage, ugliness and so on).

Unfortunately there isn't such thing as a commercial harbour in Algarve. Some cruisers may peer in Portimão under limited conditions. Faro, as capital-town of the region doesn't have any kind of maritime facilities: no place for cargo ships or cruisers. Well, but there is a place which may be euphemisticaly called "commercial harbour", although it's not more that a mere tiny peer. Still, it's very pictoresque. I mean, it offers a variety of subjects to those who like photography. At least in my opinion.

In his way to this place the geocacher will have the chance to observe interesting aspects. Driving from downtown Faro to this place, one will pass near saltz extraction platforms, usually crowded with a variety of birds. Another cool element is the small ship partially sunk, on the right side as you drive to the given coordinates.

The Cache

The container it's a black 35 mm film canister. As you extract the container, please be careful with the presence of fishermen in the area. Try to be stealth and to fix the container properly when you return it.
