Geocache Description:

Arrrr! A pirate themed treasure hunt for the brave and adventurous.

Avast Ye! In this treasure hunt "X" marks both the beginning and the end. But beware, this one could be quite challenging.

To complete it you will need the better part of a day, access to one of them newfangled computing devices with a net connection, a horseless carriage, a quill and some parchment. A clever wit will also come in handy.

Warning: The final is located near a steep slope. If you have any fear of heights, please bring along someone who can assist. The surrounding area is also in a bit of disrepair, so young children may want to avoid.

Waypoint 1:

The initial coordinates will take you the first "X". Walk 130 paces due north, counting the large yellow boat hooks along the way. Here you will find the wooden plank from our pirate ship. If it's a hot day, walk another 10 paces north!

A = Number of boat hooks between "X" and the wooden plank

There are at least three other caches in this area. Now would be a great time to find them.

Waypoint 2:

S41 17.10Z E174 46.68Y

Z = A/3
Y = A-3

Now that you've taken a walk off the plank, it's time to dive down and find the anchor from our pirate ship. At this place is a building worth spending several hours exploring. On the first floor you can take a turn at the helm of a ship, much like you might find onboard the pirate's own. This waypoint is accessable between the hours of 10am to 5pm every day except Christmas day.

B = last digit in the last year of operation of this ship's helm

Waypoint 3:

S41 17.4X9 E174 46.B60

X = B-1

At this point we'll be looking for the pirate's pet, who took off shortly after his death! How long has it been hanging out here?

C = Year

Waypoint 4:

S41 20.6TU E174 46.VW1

TU = First two digits of C
VW = Last two digits of C

Come on board the pirates ship and get a birds eye view of the sea! Here you must find a clue that will lead you to the next puzzle. Extra care may be required here, as there are a lot of young landlubbers playing about here on sunny days.

D = Answer to puzzle

Final Cache:

S41 1L.MNO E174 46.QRS

L = Second digit of D+6
M = First digit of D
N = A/3
O = B-2
Q = (Last digit of D*3)-1
R = Third digit of C
S = A/2-6

The final coordinates will get you close to the pirate's grave site, but not all the way. There is a lot of tree cover at the actual location, so reception is poor. The coordinates will take you to a grave containing several women.

To find the treasure, walk 30 paces due north from the grave. Walk down the hill east to find a path that takes you back south a short bit. Here you will find the pirate's tomb! Near the entrance you shall find what you seek, a 1 litre Sistema container. Please trade/leave coins and anything else with a pirate theme.
